Recap by phillip woo

After biding his time in midfield, the well-backed June Planet scraped the paint to edge long-time leader Outgate and claim a third win from four course and distance runs this term. It was a better effort after failing to figure once at each track. Well-backed Outgate set the pace from gate six and established a two-length lead upon straightening but was just touched off. He relished a return to the course and distance of a win in October. Favourite M Unicorn ran on nicely to finish a close third after making his run at the rear following a tardy start. It was a good effort in defeat carrying more weight following a win. Eighteen Palms kept on at one pace to finish fourth best without threatening the top three after a one-out, one-back run. He couldn't offset a sharp rise in weight following a win. Silver Sonic just held his ground after settling in the box seat. He's on his mark after a win three runs ago. Ivy League just held his ground after travelling one off the fence in midfield. Aestheticism ran on without threatening down the outside after a patient ride second last. He requires a stronger pace.
