Recap by phillip woo

After leading in the early stages, Happy Fat Cat was headed 600m out but reclaimed the lead 250m out before fighting off a challenge by Nicconi County for a third Valley 1,200m win. It was his second on the bounce and first in the grade. Nicconi County just failed to get up for the win after saving ground in midfield from gate one. He's holding his condition well. Raging favourite Beauty Infinity ran on steadily for third without threatening after settling wide without cover in midfield. He had an excuse. After a tardy start, Celestial Colours made up late ground for fourth after travelling one off the rail behind midfield. Golden Title came from last to finish next best. It was a better effort at his third local start. Run Run Cool never came on from towards the rear in the eight-horse field. Following a sluggish start from a tricky gate, Superb Capitalist worked hard to lead 600m out but faded tamely. Hong Kong Hall faded after chasing the speed one off the fence in third. He hasn't been suited by the 1,400m and Valley 1,200m following a rise in class after a Sha Tin 1,200m win.
