Recap by phillip woo

Backed late to jump a clear favourite, Viva A La won eased down after a rails run from midfield for a second win from 12 starts this term. He deserved that after placing in two prior starts. Double Show ran on nicely for second after a wide run with cover from behind midfield. He's holding his condition well. Devil And Gold finished well for a placing after a rails run from behind midfield. It was a career best effort at his 16th start. Easy Two ran on steadily for fourth after a one-off trip from midfield. He's not easy to get right. Wind Speeder ran on late down the outside to just miss the frame after a patient ride third last from gate nine. He's not far off a winning run at this level. General Ace made some ground late to finish next best after getting impeded 400m out travelling five back and one off the fence. He had an excuse. Circuit Splendor weakened after a pace-stalking run. He couldn't back up a last-start placing. Early favourite Super Elite was held up for a run over the last 100m after a box-seat run.
