Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (519) - PERCIVAL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 D STAR (G374) Y L Chung From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 2 GALVANIC (H147) K Teetan Shifted out at the start and was bumped on the hindquarters.
Horse No 3 U S S CONSTITUTION (H357) B Avdulla When questioned, B Avdulla stated that near the 250 Metres his mount made slight contact with STRONGEST BOY and as a consequence U S S CONSTITUTION reacted adversely to the contact, shifted in abruptly, became badly unbalanced and lost ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg.
Before being allowed to race again, U S S CONSTITUTION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 5 WIN WIN FIGHTER (E347) L Hewitson After the race, L Hewitson could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 STRONGEST BOY (H027) Z Purton Had difficulty obtaining clear running on the Home Turn and near the 300 Metres was shifted to the inside of GALVANIC to obtain clear running and in doing so made slight contact with U S S CONSTITUTION.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 ME TIME (J074) H Bentley From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 100 Metres was directed to the inside of YOUNG VICTORY to continue into clear running and over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when positioned tight between YEABOI and GALVANIC.
Horse No 8 YOUNG VICTORY (D399) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
Near the 1400 Metres was eased when crowded between STRONGEST BOY and WIN WIN FIGHTER which raced tight to the inside of UP AND UP which in turn was racing tight to the inside of DRAGON STAR (Apprentice E C W Wong).
Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded and advised he must ensure that he provides sufficient racing room for runners to his inside.
Near the 300 Metres was disappointed for clear running between WIN WIN FIGHTER and UP AND UP and shifted to the inside of WIN WIN FIGHTER near the 250 Metres to obtain clear running.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 UP AND UP (H163) K De Melo Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded by GALVANIC which shifted out.
Approaching the 1400 Metres was steadied to avoid GALVANIC (K Teetan) which shifted in.
K Teetan was advised to exercise more care.
After the 1400 Metres was bumped by DRAGON STAR when racing tight to the inside of that runner.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 11 YEABOI (G372) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.
Approaching the 200 Metres was checked when disappointed for clear running between LITTLE FAIRY and U S S CONSTITUTION which shifted in abruptly.
After the race, M Chadwick reported that near the 1400 Metres his mount improved into a tight run to the inside of YOUNG VICTORY and was then reluctant to hold its position when racing tight to the inside of that runner.
Horse No 12 COURIER MAGIC (H290) B Thompson Jumped awkwardly, was bumped shortly after the start and became unbalanced.

After a patient ride third last, Courier Magic swooped late down the outside to claim favourite Strongest Boy in the dying stages for back-to-back wins under Ben Thompson. He won well despite a rise in class and can win again. Strongest Boy did everything but get the win after working to the lead near the 100m following a rails run from worse than midfield. It was another good effort following a last-start win. D Star launched a late run for third after a patient ride second last from gate 11. He's improved from one run to the next following a downgrade. Dragon Star kept on reasonably well for fourth after working hard to eventually lead 1,000m out following a wide trip from better than midfield. It was a good effort in defeat. Well-backed Little Fairy kept on one paced after a prominent run on the fence. He wasn't good enough following a last-start win in Class Five at Sha Tin. Galvanic failed to lift after chasing the leading pair one off in third from the 1,000m. He couldn't deliver carrying top weight following a win. Yeaboi ran on from towards the rear without threatening.
