Race Nine : (521) - TIN LOK HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 HARMONY N BLESSED (E061) E C W Wong A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 EASON (G061) A Badel Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 5 COLOURFUL EMPEROR (H167) Y L Chung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 GOLDEN EMPIRE (E490) L Hewitson Bumped near the 150 Metres.
Horse No 7 HEALTHY HEALTHY (H203) B Avdulla Shortly after the start was bumped by WINGS OF WAR which shifted out slightly.
Near the 150 Metres shifted out and made contact with GOLDEN EMPIRE and then was directed to the inside of COLOURFUL EMPEROR to continue into clear running.
Horse No 8 LESLIE (E471) K C Leung Shortly after the start made contact with CHAIN OF GOLD and then was crowded between CHAIN OF GOLD and LIGHTNING BOLT.
Horse No 9 LIGHTNING BOLT (G130) C L Chau For some distance approaching the 500 Metres raced keenly and was steadied away from SOLAR PARTNER.
After the race, C L Chau stated that due to EASON being positioned to his outside, he was unable to improve into the event from the 500 Metres which resulted in LIGHTNING BOLT finding it difficult to make up ground when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 WINGS OF WAR (H162) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 CHAIN OF GOLD (J138) K Teetan Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start and became unbalanced.
After being crossed by LIGHTNING BOLT near the 750 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from LIGHTNING BOLT approaching the 650 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GENERAL:
1.
Race 5 (517) After the race, Starter Mr A Speechley reported that as he endeavoured to effect the start, the starting gates malfunctioned and failed to open.
He stated that after technicians quickly rectified the issue, the start was effected without incident.
The starting mechanism was replaced for the remainder of the races conducted and a review of the malfunction will be undertaken to determine the cause.

Racing Laboratory tests of COLOURFUL BARON, SMART BEAUTY, FUN ELITE, BOWSER, LUCKY SYMPHONY, EIGHTY LIGHT YEARS, ACE ONE, SOLID IMPACT, DREAM PURSUER, AEROINVINCIBLE, STAR CLUB, LIFELINE EXPRESS, VOYAGE SAMURAI, PATCH OF THETA, LUCKY SWEYNESSE, CALIFORNIA SPANGLE, GALAXY PATCH, STELLAR EXPRESS, SPARKLING KNIGHT, BABY CRYSTAL, JAMES TAK, HAPPY TOGETHER, CHAMPION DRAGON, ALACRITY, ILLUMINOUS, GIDDY UP and FRANTANCK (10.3.24) proved negative.

Colourful Emperor kept finding after working to the lead 200m out following a speed-tracking run. He's in top form with back-to-back wins and can win again. Wings Of War was eating up the ground late to finish a close second after a one-off trip from midfield. He's a winner waiting to happen. Healthy Healthy just got up to snatch third from Sugar Sugar after a rail run from midfield. He's produced mixed results in four starts after winning three of his first four outings this term. Sugar Sugar had his chance after a box-seat run. The quick back up following a third last Wednesday failed to work the oracle. A Americ Te Specso was doing some nice work late for fifth after switching into the open 150m out following a patient ride five back on the fence. It was another honest performance. Solar Partner ran on steadily without threatening with two wider out after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He was a nice winner last start in Class Four. Golden Empire weakened after a prominent run one off the fence. He's found it harder carrying more weight in back-to-back runs after a win.
