Race Five : (526) - WERTHER HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 2 KA YING RISING (J062) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 CAMPIONE (G235) M F Poon After the race, M F Poon reported that his mount failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.
He added in the Home Straight CAMPIONE failed to respond to his riding and weakened.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 TORONADO PHANTOM (E300) R Moore Near the 250 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of PARTERRE to continue into clear running.
Horse No 5 PRAWNS ELEVEN (J140) H Bentley Raced keenly in the middle stages and after the 1100 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from CALL ME GLORIOUS.
After the race, H Bentley reported that after obtaining an on-pace position, PRAWNS ELEVEN failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
Horse No 8 MY FLYING ANGEL (J174) A Atzeni From the 800 Metres was left racing wide and without cover.
Horse No 9 ROBOT MASTER (J107) B Thompson Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 10 CALL ME GLORIOUS (H410) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly and then became unbalanced when bumped by MY FLYING ANGEL.
Near the 250 Metres changed stride and blundered.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Ka Ying Rising took control near the 200m after a speed-tracking run outside the favourite Call Me Glorious from the widest draw to up his record to three wins and two seconds. Call Me Glorious found one too smart after emerging with the lead 900m out from an awkward gate. It was another solid effort despite a rise in class on a smart debut win. Solid Impact ran on nicely from midfield for a placing. He was able to back up a last start win carrying seven pounds more. Parterre kept on reasonably well after a one-out, one-back run. He's a better prospect in Class Four. Toronado Phantom just failed to get up for fourth after biding his time one from the rear. It was another honest performance. My Flying Angel got going late down the outside to finish next best after making his run two from the rear. He may be crying out for a longer trip after doing his best work late in both local starts over the 1,200m. Prawns Eleven faded after a box seat run. He couldn't lift carrying 12 pounds more following an upset win.
