Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (528) - THE BMW HONG KONG DERBY 2024 - Class 4YO - 2000Meters
Horse No 1 GALAXY PATCH (H399) B Shinn From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of MASSIVE SOVEREIGN to secure clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 HELIOS EXPRESS (H302) H Bowman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 150 Metres was bumped by CHILL CHIBI which shifted out and away from GALAXY PATCH.
After the race, H Bowman stated that his mount raced keenly in the early stages but settled after reaching the 1400 Metres.
He added in the Home Straight HELIOS EXPRESS responded only fairly to his riding and, in his opinion, may not have run out the 2000 Metres of today's race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 CHILL CHIBI (H109) C L Chau Bumped at the 150 Metres.
Horse No 5 ENSUED (H452) R Moore Bumped near the 400 Metres.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
When questioned, R Moore stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event which resulted in ENSUED having to work too hard in the early and middle stages.
He said as a result ENSUED was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 CHANCHENG GLORY (H212) W Buick Jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
Horse No 7 MASSIVE SOVEREIGN (J208) Z Purton Crowded shortly after the start by CHANCHENG GLORY which shifted out and was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
When being shifted across behind runners in the early stages raced keenly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 BEAUTY CRESCENT (H334) A Badel Noted to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the Start, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Jumped awkwardly.
In the early and middle stages over-raced and refused to settle and for some distance after the 800 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from STAR MAC.
Horse No 9 SPEED DRAGON (H380) L Hewitson Held up for clear running making the Home Turn and near the 400 Metres became unbalanced when bumped with ENSUED.
Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.
Horse No 10 UNBELIEVABLE (J130) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 14 STAR MAC (J053) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Massive Sovereign came from near last 800m out to claim victory 10m out. He built on an eye-catching debut win earlier this month over yesterday's 2,000m trip and there's clearly more to come from him. Galaxy Patch made it close on the wire after switching off heels for a clear run 150m out following a patient ride at the rear of the field. Ka Ying Generation kept on gamely for third after turning the final bend four lengths on top leading from gate four. He goes well over the 2,000m. Chill Chibi stayed on nicely for fourth after a one-off trip from midfield. It was a good run with a step up in trip. Unbelievable ran on reasonably well after biding his time fourth last following a slow start. He's naturally acclimatising with each local start. Chancheng Glory gradually faded after a pace-stalking run. He didn't quite get the trip. Well-backed Helene Feeling faltered after a prominent run. Favourite Helios Express never figured after making his run towards the rear from gate 13. He couldn't offset a wide draw and step up in distance.
