Racing Incident Report
Race Eleven : (588) - DONGCHENG DISTRICT HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters
Horse No 2 FLAGSHIP WARRIOR (G452) E C W Wong Crowded shortly after the start.
After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount travelled well during the run, however, failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure and gave ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, FLAGSHIP WARRIOR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 5 HOLY LAKE (H260) C Y Ho Shifted out at the 150 Metres and was bumped.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 STAR CONTACT (E472) L Hewitson Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 BEATO (H090) B Avdulla Stood flat-footed as the start was effected and lost ground.
Before being allowed to race again, BEATO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
Horse No 8 LOYAL BO BO (J011) K C Leung After the race, K C Leung reported that his mount travelled only fairly during the event and changed its lead leg on a number of occasions.
He added with the early pace of the event being run inside of standard time and LOYAL BO BO being up in class, his mount did not finish the race off.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 SUNSTRIDER (J168) Z Purton Jumped only fairly and then shortly after was checked when crowded between FLAGSHIP WARRIOR which was taken out by SUMMIT IMPACT and POWERFUL WINGS which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider after being bumped by ACCOLADE START.
After the race, Z Purton stated that after being checked at the start his mount settled back than what had been intended.
He added when placed under pressure in the Home Straight SUNSTRIDER found the line reasonably well, but, in his opinion, would appreciate being stepped up in distance.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 BRIGHT INHERITANCE (J215) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 12 POWERFUL WINGS (G225) A Hamelin Bumped shortly after the start and made contact with SUNSTRIDER.
Over the concluding stages lay in and proved difficult to ride out.
Horse No 14 TALENTS AMBITION (J136) H Bentley Near the 150 Metres was bumped by HOLY LAKE which shifted out to improve.
GENERAL:
1.
After the running of Race 3, the track classification was officially changed from "Good" to "Good to Firm" This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 3 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm"

Addition to Racing Incidents Report of 10 April 2024 Happy Valley Racemeeting - Race 1 (569) HAPPY HERO - Raced wide and without cover from the 600 Metres.

Holy Lake finished well after having to alter course 200m out to win going away in the final few metres after a one-off trip from better than midfield for a fourth win this term. Star Contact stayed on well for second at massive odds after a prominent run. The switch in course and distance nearly worked the oracle. Well-backed Frantanck succumbed late after roaring to the lead from gate 14. He continues to race well after winning two of three prior starts. Sunstrider finished well to just take fourth after making his run two from the rear. He has shown potential in his three starts and can bob up at any moment. Powerful Wings ran on nicely to finish next best after making his run five back and one off the fence. He might be near a bottom. Talents Ambition ran on steadily after a rails run travelling worse than midfield. It was a typical performance run on without threatening performance. Loyal Bo Bo didn't find much after a pace-stalking run from gate 11. He couldn't lift in a higher grade. Beato cost himself after jumping poorly.
