Race Seven : (633) - THE FRANCE GALOP CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 CELESTIAL COLOURS (H362) H Bowman After the race, H Bowman stated that his instructions were to endeavour to lead tonight.
He said after his mount began only fairly and he observed a number of runners to his inside going forward, he elected to shift his mount across behind runners in the early stages to avoid racing wide.
He said as a result CELESTIAL COLOURS raced further back than intended.
He added that when crowded to the inside of ASTROLOGER approaching the 400 Metres, his mount lost momentum at that stage and as a result was unable to finish the race off from that point.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 BEAUTY INFINITY (H377) B Avdulla Bumped near the 300 Metres when being shifted out.
Horse No 5 NEVER TOO SOON (E434) K De Melo Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by COPARTNER PRANCE a short distance later.
Held up on the Home Turn.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 COPARTNER PRANCE (H408) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 FASHION LEGEND (J080) B Thompson Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by CONTI CONTI which shifted out.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 MAGIC PHOENIX (E440) M L Yeung Bumped at the start by KA YING CHEER which shifted out.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 10 CALIFORNIA CIBLE (E431) Y L Chung Knuckled over badly on jumping, resulting in its rider Apprentice Y L Chung becoming badly unbalanced and CALIFORNIA CIBLE losing ground.
Approaching the 400 Metres when racing tight to the inside of CELESTIAL COLOURS was steadied when reluctant to hold its position to the inside of CELESTIAL COLOURS which was in turn racing tight to the inside of ASTROLOGER.
Horse No 11 KA YING CHEER (H369) A Atzeni Bumped at the start.
Approaching the 300 Metres made contact with BEAUTY INFINITY when that runner shifted to the outside of COPARTNER PRANCE to obtain clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Early favourite Copartner Prance edged clear after moving to the lead 250m out for a third straight win despite a rise in class. He will remain in the grade and can win another. Never Too Soon dashed well for second after settling on the rail behind midfield. He relished a return to the course and distance of two wins and does like wet ground. Post-time favourite Ka Ying Cheer just denied Beauty Infinity for third after working hard from a wide draw to track the leading pair. It was a good run despite the tough run and rise in class. Beauty Infinity had no excuse after getting all favours in the box seat. He hasn't missed the frame in four straight runs but hasn't been able to take his game to a higher level after two wins in Class Four. Happy United gradually faded after dictating the run from gate four. It was an OK effort with a rise in trip. Conti Conti ran on steadily without threatening after settling one off the fence in midfield. He's still acclimatising. Astrologer made some late ground after a patient ride two from the rear. He continues to disappoint this season.
