Recap by phillip woo

Regent Glory took control 100m out after peeling out for a clear run 200m out following a box-seat run for a second win from four starts on the dirt this season. He relished a return to the gritty surface. Happy Tango gave a cheeky sight on the speed for second at long odds. He seemed to strike a suitable speed-biased surface. Everyone's Victory kept on third best after a prominent run. He's building towards a win. Punted late Joyful Life gradually faded to finish a distant fourth after a pace-stalking run. Imperial Magee ran on steadily to just miss a quartet spot after finding a spot in midfield on the fence. It was a better effort with a return to his preferred dirt surface. Strive For Glory came from last and near the inside to finish next best. He didn't get race conditions to suit. Sensationally backed Must Go made some ground without threatening ridden for luck at the rear from gate 12. Favourite Hinokami Kagura never landed a blow after making his run one-off from midfield. He did not seem to enjoy the wet ground conditions.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three : (638) - MANICOU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 MUST GO (J133) B Avdulla Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of B Avdulla, 7th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.

When questioned, B Avdulla stated that his mount jumped awkwardly which resulted in his left foot shifting in his stirrup iron.

He said as a result he was obliged to re-position his foot in the stirrup iron and MUST GO settled further back than what had been intended.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 CIRCUIT ELEVEN (G468) Z Purton Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

The performance of CIRCUIT ELEVEN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, CIRCUIT ELEVEN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Horse No 6 HINOKAMI KAGURA (H384) H Bentley After the race, H Bentley reported that his mount failed to travel throughout the event and he was obliged to make use of HINOKAMI KAGURA to hold its position.

Trainer J Richards reported that he had been pleased with the horse's work leading into the race and had expected it to run well.

He said the only explanation he could offer was that HINOKAMI KAGURA is still relatively inexperienced and may not have appreciated the kickback it received on today's surface.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of HINOKAMI KAGURA was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.

Before being allowed to race again, HINOKAMI KAGURA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
