Recap by phillip woo

Punted late, Lucky Patch ran down the favourite Czarson in the shadows of the post for a debut win after biding his time three deep with cover behind midfield. He remains unbeaten in three starts after two Australian wins at Doomben. Czarson was just denied after hitting the front 200m out following a wide run without cover in a handy spot. Star Of Yuen Long stayed on well for a placing following a one-out, one-back run. It was a positive effort trying the dirt for the first time. Hongkong Great grudgingly gave way after dictating the run from a wide gate. He's naturally coming around in his four starts. Sensationally backed Blotting Paper was yielding ground 150m out after stalking the leader from a wide gate. He'll need to catch his breath following a 10-point penalty for a laststart win in Class Four. Silver Fig never featured after clipping the heels of eventual winner Lucky Patch and nearly coming down 900m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (164) - PYRAMID HILL HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

WISDOM PATCH was slow to begin.

SUPERB DADDY began only fairly.

EIGHT TRIGRAMS shifted out at the start and inconvenienced LUCKY PATCH.

ENSHRINED shifted out at the start and bumped BLOTTING PAPER.

K Teetan (CZARSON) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 950 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of LUCKY PATCH, resulting in that horse being dictated inwards across the rightful running of SILVER FIG which was racing tight outside HAPPY QIJI which shifted out marginally, the result being that SILVER FIG clipped the heels of LUCKY PATCH, blundered and lost the running to which it was rightfully entitled.

K Teetan was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 25 November 2020 and to expire on Monday, 30 November 2020 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).

In addition, Jockey Teetan was fined $30,000.

After the race, it was reported that SILVER FIG had sustained a laceration to the left front pastern.

Approaching the 300 Metres, PRANCE DRAGON was directed to the outside of ENSHRINED to obtain clear running.

M F Poon, the rider of LUCKY PATCH, pleaded guilty to a charge of Stewards' Instruction 22(3) in that he used his whip in an unnecessary manner on the horse after passing the winning post.

Jockey Poon was fined the sum of $5,000.

The performance of HAPPY QIJI, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY QIJI will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of HAPPY QIJI and EIGHT TRIGRAMS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LUCKY PATCH and CZARSON were sent for sampling.
