Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (396) - SHEK KIP MEI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
As the start was effected, UNIVERSAL GO GO turned its head to the left and consequently missed the start.
At the start, SUPREME PLUS was crowded for room between TELECOM PUMA and FORTUNE CARRIER, both of which shifted ground.
Soon after the start, HERCULES momentarily raced tight between VIVA POPCORN and TELECOM PUMA, both of which shifted ground.
From wide barriers, GRACYLOVE and FOREVER CITY were steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
VIVA POPCORN made the first turn awkwardly.
On the first turn after the 1000 Metres, FORTUNE CARRIER, which was being steadied, was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of INFINITE POWER.
After the 600 Metres, TELECOM PUMA improved to be racing close to the heels of FORTUNE CARRIER and then making the turn approaching the 500 Metres shifted out from behind that horse.
VIVA POPCORN, which was following, also became awkward and ran wide on the turn near the 500 Metres.
This enabled HERCULES to immediately improve inside VIVA POPCORN.
VIVA POPCORN then got its head on the side and lay out approaching the Home Turn and in the Straight gave ground.
After being disappointed for running between FORTUNE CARRIER and VIVA CHEF at the 200 Metres, SUPERB DADDY was then directed to the inside of the heels of FORTUNE CARRIER to continue improving.
Over the concluding stages, FOREVER CITY was not able to be tested after improving to be racing close to the heels of FORTUNE CARRIER.
When questioned, Z Purton stated that FORTUNE CARRIER is still quite inexperienced and after becoming awkward on the first turn near the heels of INFINITE POWER, FORTUNE CARRIER again made the turn near the 500 Metres awkwardly.
He said when placed under pressure in the early part of the Straight, FORTUNE CARRIER shifted ground on a number of occasions and then did not close off the race.
He added that he suggested to connections that they might consider dropping the horse back in distance to 1000 Metres as it may be better suited to a shorter distance at this stage of its career.
A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE CARRIER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

FORTUNE CARRIER, HERCULES and SUPERB DADDY were sent for sampling.

Hercules just got up in the nick of time to beat Super Daddy following a one-off run behind midfield for a second course and distance win this season. The key was a riding change to Joao Moreira. Plunged late, Superb Daddy did everything right but get the win after surging to the front 100m out following a rail run in midfield. He's well rated off his current mark. Viva Chef stayed on reasonably well for a placing following a prominent run on the fence. It was a better effort on his past few with a step up to the 1,200m. Universal Go Go finished well to fill the frame after travelling third last following a sluggish start. It was another good effort carrying more weight after a last-start win. Supreme Plus ran on late near the inside without menacing after a rail run behind midfield. He needs rating relief. Casa Kingdom made some ground without ever looking a chance after settling fourth last from a tricky gate. He hasn't disgraced in either of his two starts but is still a work in progress. Favourite Fortune Carrier had nothing left in the tank 100m out after advancing to the front near the 200m following a pace-stalking run.
