Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (531) - KOWLOON TSAI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
KING'S TROOPER began only fairly.
EXUBERANT was crowded for room on jumping between NOIR RIDER and GOODLUCK GOODLUCK which was bumped by SPRINT FORWARD.
After this, from a wide barrier, EXUBERANT was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
CHIKORITA began only fairly and then shortly after the start was bumped by SHINING ON which, after beginning awkwardly, was then taken in by SUPERB DADDY.
In this incident, SUPERB DADDY and SHINING ON bumped, resulting in SUPERB DADDY becoming unbalanced.
When being steadied to obtain cover approaching and passing the 1100 Metres, KING'S TROOPER travelled keenly.
Approaching the 800 Metres, NOBLE DESIRE momentarily raced in restricted room inside FIRE BALL which got its head on the side and lay in.
Passing the 500 Metres, NOBLE DESIRE was awkwardly placed inside the heels of FIRE BALL which again got its head on the side and lay in.
At the 300 Metres, SHADOW RUNNER, which was being shifted to the outside of GOODLUCK GOODLUCK, was momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of FIRE BALL which shifted in.
For a short distance passing the 300 Metres, EXUBERANT was awkwardly placed inside the heels of WHISKEY NEAT.
Near the 250 Metres, SHINING ON was shifted out away from the heels of GOODLUCK GOOLUCK which was giving ground, resulting in SHINING ON and SUPERB DADDY racing tight as SUPERB DADDY was racing close to the heels of SHADOW RUNNER.
Passing the 100 Metres, SHINING ON was held up for clear running before improving into tight running between NOIR RIDER and SUPERB DADDY.
Passing the 50 Metres, SHADOW RUNNER raced tight inside EXUBERANT.
Throughout the race, WHISKEY NEAT travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of WHISKEY NEAT and GOODLUCK GOODLUCK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of KING'S TROOPER immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, KING'S TROOPER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
FIRE BALL and NOBLE DESIRE were sent for sampling.

Favourite Fire Ball got up 100m out for the win after enjoying a prominent run with cover. The win was forthcoming after placing in three of four Sha Tin runs this term. Punted late, Noble Desire stayed on well along the inside to finish a close second following a rail run better than midfield. It was not a surprise after placing in three of four prior runs at Sha Tin. Exuberant closed well to make it interesting on the wire following a one-off run worse than midfield. It was a vastly improved effort at just his second career start. Shadow Runner stayed on a non-threatening fourth following a one-off trip in midfield. He was able to back up an improved effort last start. Sprint Forward got going to pick up a minor cheque without ever looking a place threat following a deep run in midfield. He's been racing consistently well over this course and distance this season. You can put a pen through the run of Superb Daddy who was held up for most the straight run following a patient ride third from the rear. Like the latter, Shining On was another who was short of room for the most part when trying to wind up from towards the rear.
