Manna From Heaven just held on for the win after surging to the front near the 200m following a pace-stalking run. He took full advantage of the light weight up in grade after hitting top form in two prior Class Five runs over this trip. Favourite Fa Fa was ridden for luck third last from a middle draw but finished strongly down the outside to just miss. It was another fine effort after relishing a switch to the Valley 1,650m for a win last start and he remains one to follow. Pearl Champion made it close on the wire after getting a lovely ride to sit one-out, one-back from a wide draw. He's returned to form in his past two starts over this Valley trip and can get away with a race before season's end. Piano Solo had every chance following a box-seat run but was just denied a placing. He clearly has a bottom in sight. Plunged late, Galactic was stopping 100m out after rushing to the lead from gate 10. He didn't get the trip trying the Valley for the first time. Off The Reel made some ground from behind midfield without menacing. He's a lightly raced three-year-old and will need more time and education. Divine Unicorn will sleep well after a hard run without cover in midfield from an awkward gate.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (704) - WESTLANDS HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

STRONG ALLIANCE began awkwardly and shifted out towards the heels of GALACTIC.

Then after failing to show speed, STRONG ALLIANCE was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, PEARL CHAMPION was awkwardly placed inside the heels of MANNA FROM HEAVEN which was shifting in.

Approaching the 1300 Metres, DIONYSUS COLLIN momentarily raced tight inside SUPERB DADDY which was taken in by FA FA which was then directed out to relieve the tightening.

After this, SUPERB DADDY, despite being ridden along, was unable to maintain its position between DIONYSUS COLLIN and FA FA.

Making the turn near the 1150 Metres, AMAZING BOY became unbalanced after shifting in and brushing the running rail of its own accord.

For some distance after the 1100 Metres, RAGING BLAZE was very awkwardly placed close to the heels of PEARL CHAMPION and making the turn approaching the 1000 Metres shifted out and inconvenienced DIVINE UNICORN.

Then after the 900 Metres, RAGING BLAZE continued to travel keenly and shifted ground on a number of occasions when racing close to the heels of PEARL CHAMPION.

Passing the 800 Metres, DIONYSUS COLLIN raced tight inside OFF THE REEL which shifted in away from the heels of RAGING BLAZE.

Passing the 300 Metres, PEARL CHAMPION was directed to the outside of MANNA FROM HEAVEN to obtain clear running.

Throughout the race DIVINE UNICORN travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of SUPERB DADDY, DIVINE UNICORN and RAGING BLAZE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MANNA FROM HEAVEN and FA FA were sent for sampling.
