Goodluck Goodluck kept finding to just hold off High Rise Soldier after surging to the lead 300m out following a pace-stalking run. He was able to raise his game at this level with the blinkers removed after winning two back in Class Four. High Rise Soldier was closing with every stride after a box-seat run. It was another honest effort from a proper gate. California Concord ran on steadily following a prominent run to finish a close third. He has been knocking on the door in his past three starts over this course and distance. Here Comes Ted made up heaps of ground late to just miss a placing after a patient ride third last on the fence from a wide gate. He's run well in back-to-back runs following throat surgery in March. Punted late, The Runner ran on without menacing travelling fourth from the rear. He got too far back from a wide gate. Favourite Ever Force only plodded when asked for more following a rails run better than midfield. He failed to build on a positive first run last start in this grade following two Class Four wins but still has youth on his side. Meaningful Star made headway late without menacing travelling second from the rear. It wasn't a bad run over an unsuitable trip.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (725) - CLEVERLY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

Shortly after the start, DAILY BEAUTY was steadied away from the heels of WIND SPEEDER which became unbalanced when bumped and taken out by EVER FORCE which was in turn taken out by HERE COMES TED.

Also shortly after the start, LINCOLN BRIGHT and MEANINGFUL STAR bumped.

Making the turn near the 1050 Metres, GOODLUCK GOODLUCK got its head on the side, shifted in and bumped HIGH RISE SOLDIER.

At the entrance to the Straight, EVER FORCE was awkwardly placed outside the heels of HIGH RISE SOLDIER which shifted to the outside of GOODLUCK GOODLUCK to obtain clear running.

EVER FORCE then raced close to the heels of HIGH RISE SOLDIER after the 300 Metres.

Passing the 300 Metres, PING HAI GALAXY and GOODLUCK GOODLUCK raced tight.

After the race, A Hamelin stated that he had to make more use of PING HAI GALAXY in the early stages from the outside barrier to cross runners to his inside to obtain the lead near the 800 Metres.

He said, in his opinion, PING HAI GALAXY's failure to finish off the race over the concluding stages was attributable to the use that he had to make of the horse in the early stages.

A veterinary inspection of PING HAI GALAXY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

EVER FORCE, GOODLUCK GOODLUCK and HIGH RISE SOLDIER were sent for sampling.
