Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Lucky Eight just held off the fast-finishing Power Koepp after getting pressured the entire trip up front by Adios to remain unbeaten in two starts despite a rise in class. Power Koepp finished strongly to make it close on the wire after a wide trip with cover in midfield. He has been racing well and the huge weight swing was the difference in the end. Sensationally-backed Adios grudgingly gave way after prompting the pace outside the winner from the widest gate. He's a winner waiting to happen. Armour Eagle weaved a run late through the middle to fill the frame after a patient ride three from the rear from a wide draw. It was a better effort. War Weapon just held his ground after a handy run. He'll be a force to be reckoned with if he finds his way into Class Four. Transcendent came up one-paced after a prominent run on the fence. He's still in search of a bottom.

SOLAR WINDS and GLOBAL HARMONY were slow to begin.

POWER KOEPP shifted in at the start and bumped TRANSCENDENT.

ADIOS began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped JAZZ CLUB.

From wide barriers, ARMOUR EAGLE and CALL ME TEDDY were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

In the early stages, GOLDEN WARSTEED travelled keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to settle.

Near the 950 Metres, SKY FOREVER was checked away from the heels of GLOBAL HARMONY due to both horses shifting ground.

Near the 850 Metres, TRANSCENDENT got its head up when being steadied to obtain cover behind LUCKY EIGHT.

Approaching the 800 Metres, POWER KOEPP was awkwardly placed behind WAR WEAPON.

Near the 700 Metres, CALL ME TEDDY raced tight outside SKY FOREVER which shifted out away from the heels of ARMOUR EAGLE.

CALL ME TEDDY lost its right hind plate approaching the 500 Metres.

Passing the 300 Metres, ADIOS shifted in and bumped LUCKY EIGHT.

Throughout the race, JAZZ CLUB travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, Z Purton stated that GLOBAL HARMONY became very worked up in the Parade Ring and behind the barriers.

He said at stages in today's race GLOBAL HARMONY travelled keenly and then in the Straight did not finish the race off which, in his opinion, was attributed to the manner in which the horse became worked up prior to the race.

A veterinary inspection of GLOBAL HARMONY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of EXCELLENT DADDY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LUCKY EIGHT and POWER KOEPP were sent for sampling.
