Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (658) - FRIENDSHIP BRIDGE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
MAGIC TORONADO was withdrawn on 11.5.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen right front leg) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter TURTLE AGAIN.
Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC TORONADO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
PEAK TO PEAK jumped only fairly.
DIAMOND WINNER was slow to begin and then crowded by WIN WIN which shifted out.
NORTHERN BEAST was bumped on jumping by LUCKY PLANET which shifted in.
GOOD BOY was slow to begin.
From an outside barrier, TURTLE AGAIN was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
In the early stages, STORM LEGEND raced keenly when being shifted across behind runners.
STORM LEGEND continued to race keenly in the middle stages and making the turn after the 900 Metres shifted out and made contact with TURTLE AGAIN.
Approaching the 800 Metres, STRONGEST BOY shifted in slightly and made contact with DIAMOND WINNER, resulting in STRONGEST BOY becoming unbalanced.
Near the 500 Metres, BROTHER PEARL became momentarily unbalanced when bumped by NORTHERN BEAST which shifted out slightly.
Over the concluding stages, BROTHER PEARL could not be ridden out to the finish when being taken out slightly by SPEED FAY FAY which shifted out.
SINGAPORE SPIRIT raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the race, C L Chau (WIN WIN) reported that his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event and raced in a disappointing manner.
A veterinary inspection of WIN WIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of COLONEL and PEAK TO PEAK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
STORM LEGEND and SPEED FAY FAY were sent for sampling.

Storm Legend came from last and down the far outside to take control 100m out for a first local win at his 25th start and provide rookie rider Ellis Wong a maiden victory. He had run well last start over this trip and relished both the wet track and 10-pound claim. Favourite Speed Fay Fay stayed on a distant second after a handy run. He was able to back up a win last start. Specked late Northern Beast ran on nicely from near the rear to snatch a placing. It was a pleasing debut performance. Strongest Boy ran on nicely to just miss a placing after a wide with cover run from behind midfield. He can produce a positive run now and then. Charmander just held his ground after a prominent run on the fence. Brother Pearl made some ground without menacing after wide trip from beyond midfield. He's shown a bit more spark in his past two of four starts. Singapore Spirit weakened after chasing the speed wide without cover. Colonel was gassed passing the 100m after getting his own way in front. Win Win never came on from behind midfield.
