Recap by phillip woo

Plunged late, Lucky Missile kept up a strong gallop, turning the final bend nearly two lengths on top after emerging with the lead 850m out following an early battle up front with Super Joy for a first win from 11 starts this term. He relished a return to blinkers. Splendid Star ran on nicely near the outside to snatch second after a patient ride second last from gate 12. Superb Daddy ran on well from behind midfield to fill a placing. He ran well but was set a task carrying more weight following a win. Surrealism just missed a placing after getting all the favours fourth on the fence. He should find his mark in this grade soon. Brilliant Pioneer made only a mild bid after a rail run in midfield despite a downgrade. Smiling Face stayed on all right after a wide-without-cover run from behind midfield. Off a mark of 15 that was likely his final start in Hong Kong.
