Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (22) - SO KON PO HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters
MEDIC ELITE jumped only fairly and then was crowded by YEE CHEONG WARRIOR which shifted in.
DIAMOND WINNER was slow to begin.
JOYFUL CHAMPION jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
FORTUNE MASTER was bumped by BEAUTY NOVA on jumping and then from the outside barrier was also shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
CHIU CHOW BROTHER and FIRE BALL bumped shortly after the start.
CHIU CHOW BROTHER then raced keenly in the lead in the early stages.
MILLENNIUM FALCON also raced keenly in the early stages.
SINGAPORE SPIRIT raced wide and without cover in the middle stages.
BEAUTY NOVA raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the race, C L Chau (MILLENNIUM FALCON) reported that his mount settled more forward than what he had intended from the inside barrier and found it difficult to finish the race off strongly under its increase in weight to 134 lbs for today's race.
A veterinary inspection of MILLENNIUM FALCON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE MASTER immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
CHIU CHOW BROTHER and SUNNY BABY were sent for sampling.

Chiu Chow Brother kept finding after turning the final bend a length on top after leading from gate 11, to ring up a third career win in Class Five over 1,400m. Sunny Baby surged late from midfield to just get the bob down for second. He's always a chance in this grade. Specked late Fire Ball just missed the quinella spot after settling one in second or third without cover from a wide draw. He has the tools to win shortly in this grade. Yee Cheong Warrior finished well with one wider out to fill the frame after a patient ride one from the rear. He's in the right class now but is most effective over the Valley 1,650m. Double Show stayed on okay after a handy run. He's not easy to get right. Punted late Medic Elite made ground without threatening near the inside after biding his time three from the rear. It was an okay effort over an inadequate trip. Joyful Champion came from last to finish next best. It was a better performance. Smart Leader never fired from midfield. It was another dismal go over the 1,400m after a near win last Sunday over 1,200m.
