Racing Incident Report
Race One : (119) - CHAOZHOU HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
Horse No 2 DEVIL AND GOLD (G443) M F Poon From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
When commencing to make ground inside the 50 Metres was checked approaching the winning post when disappointed for clear running between PRECISION GOAL and SIX BEST FRIENDS which was commencing to give ground, and as a result could not be ridden out to the finish of the event.
Horse No 3 STARRY NIGHT (G253) Z Purton Fractious in the barriers as the start was effected, jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Before being allowed to race again, STARRY NIGHT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
Approaching the 200 Metres became held up behind THETA HEDGE when that runner commenced to give ground and then made contact with BRILLIANT EIGHT when it shifted to the outside of THETA HEDGE to avoid the heels of that runner.
Approaching the 50 Metres was then directed to the inside of AUGUST MOON to continue into clear running.
Horse No 4 THETA HEDGE (E307) L Hewitson After the race, L Hewitson reported that his mount travelled satisfactorily in a forward position but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and, in his opinion, may have reached the end of its preparation.
Trainer K W Lui agreed with the assessment of L Hewitson and confirmed that THETA HEDGE will now be transferred to his Conghua stable to be freshened up.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 HAPPY TANGO (D075) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start.
Horse No 6 PRECISION GOAL (H016) M Chadwick After travelling a short distance raced tight between BRILLIANT EIGHT and AUGUST MOON which shifted out before being corrected by its rider.
Horse No 7 BRILLIANT PIONEER (G255) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 NORDIC COMBINED (G015) A Badel Slow to begin.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 SIX BEST FRIENDS (G205) Y L Chung Jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race.
Before being allowed to race again, SIX BEST FRIENDS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 10 TUNG HAYE HAYE (G105) A Hamelin Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.
Near the 950 Metres was crowded between BRILLIANT PIONEER and BRILLIANT EIGHT which shifted out and away from PRECISION GOAL.
Horse No 11 BELL OF VICTORY (G116) K De Melo Bumped heavily shortly after the start.
Horse No 12 BRILLIANT EIGHT (G280) H T Mo Approaching the 200 Metres was hampered when bumped by STARRY NIGHT.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Punted late Nordic Combined showed a good turn of foot to win going away 80m out near the inside after settling two from the rear for an emphatic first win at his 15th start. In a blanket finish of eight for the minors, post-time favourite Brilliant Pioneer ran on well with two wider out to edge August Moon from better than midfield for second. He lived up to a nice run first-up this season. August Moon stayed on nicely to fill a placing after a rail run from midfield. He relished a downgrade after showing little in his first three starts this term. Early favourite Bell Of Victory closed off well to just miss a placing from behind midfield. He appears from his two starts to have turned the corner this season. Starry Night did well to finish next best with a ducking-and-weaving run after jumping very slow. It was an improved run on his first three starts this term. Precision Goal was next best after a prominent run. Tung Haye Haye kept on all right after making his run outside August Moon. It was his best run from nine stars following a stable change.
