Happy Hero kept finding after taking control from better than midfield to ring up a second win from three starts following a stable change. He should remain in the grade and can win again. Favourite Fiery Flying was closing well but couldn't quite get there after turning the final bend one off from midfield. He's racing well without winning. Sun Of Makfi kept on well to fill a placing after a prominent run. He's an honest performer. Fortune Triple grudgingly gave way after circling the field 1,200m out to lead at the 1,000m. It was another positive performance. Joyful Champion ran on reasonably well three from the right to finish next best after a patient ride third last from gate 14. He'll be a force to be reckoned with from a better draw over this course. Copartner Era kept on one paced over the last 100m after rolling forward after a wide trip from midfield to sit third 500m out. He's gone okay. Starship Eighty was on his tippy toes 100m out after tracking the speed one off the fence. He might be better ridden patiently.

Race Two : (158) - PANASONIC ZIAINO AIR TREATMENT HANDICAP - Class 5 - 2000Meters

Horse No 1 COPARTNER FIONN (G256) A Badel Near the 850 Metres was steadied to avoid FORTUNE TRIPLE (C L Chau) which shifted in when not clear.

C L Chau was reprimanded.

When questioned, A Badel stated that his instructions were to hold a midfield position.

He said when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow his mount to stride forward and cross runners to his inside to avoid racing wide when the early pace of the event was run slower than standard.

Horse No 2 SUN OF MAKFI (D157) A Atzeni Held up making the Home Turn.

Horse No 3 FIERY FLYING (G090) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 SUPERB DADDY (D235) L Hewitson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer??which had previously been reported.

Horse No 5 COPARTNER ERA (C534) K C Leung Over the final stages lay in and away from SUN OF MAKFI when that runner improved to its outside.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 6 GOLD STERLING (H032) L Ferraris Briefly held up for clear running approaching the 350 Metres.

Approaching the 100 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of SUN OF MAKFI to obtain clear running.

Horse No 8 LOYAL AMBITION (E489) A Hamelin In the middle stages raced wide and without cover, Trainer C Fownes advised that from a wide barrier he had instructed Jockey A Hamelin to ride LOYAL AMBITION in a conservative manner in the early stages as the horse had been racing disappointingly when ridden in a forward position at its previous race starts.

Mr Fownes advised that having regard to the manner in which LOYAL AMBITION raced today, he would look to drop the horse back in distance for its next race start.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 HAPPY HERO (G322) Z Purton Approaching the 1700 Metres when racing tight to the inside of SMART BEAUTY shifted out slightly and was steadied.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 11 STARSHIP EIGHTY (H022) K Teetan Slow to begin.

Horse No 12 JOYFUL CHAMPION (G072) B Avdulla Making the Home Turn was unable to proceed forward when positioned behind FIERY FLYING.

Trainer C W Chang advised that from the outside barrier he had instructed B Avdulla to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.

He said he issued such instructions to endeavour to have JOYFUL CHAMPION finish the race off strongly over the 2000 Metres.

Horse No 13 GENEROUS FRIEND (G439) M F Poon Kicked a rail whilst leaving the Parade Ring, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

The performance of GENEROUS FRIEND, which has finished tailed out in recent starts, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, GENEROUS FRIEND will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a series of consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 14 SMART BEAUTY (G477) Y L Chung Near the 200 Metres was held up for clear running behind STARSHIP EIGHTY and did not obtain clear running until passing the 50 Metres when it was shifted out.
