Racing Incident Report
Race One : (195) - CHEVALIER INSURANCE HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 GO GO GO (H196) Z Purton When questioned, Z Purton stated that after settling back in the field, he was unable to proceed forward in the early part of the Home Straight when positioned behind COMPULSORY.
He said as a result he elected to endeavour to obtain a narrow run between GENERAL WINNER and MASTER OF LUCK approaching the 250 Metres, but then was badly held up until near the 200 Metres where it made contact with MASTER OF LUCK.
He added between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres he was then crowded when GENERAL WINNER (A Atzeni) shifted out whilst being ridden along.
A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 MASTER OF LUCK (G276) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly and was bumped shortly after the start.
Bumped near the 200 Metres.
Horse No 3 RATTAN WORLD (G384) B Avdulla Slow to begin.
Horse No 4 SUPER CONTENTED (H251) K H Chan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 1200 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid the heels of GREAT BRILLIANT when that runner was shifted in.
Near the 900 Metres was briefly crowded by TSUEN WAN GLORY.
Passing the 200 Metres was directed to the outside of TSUEN WAN GLORY to continue into clear running.
Horse No 5 TSUEN WAN GLORY (E403) A Badel In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid the heels of MASTER OF LUCK.
Trainer K L Man confirmed that from a wide barrier he had instructed A Badel to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages as TSUEN WAN GLORY had disappointed at its most recent starts when ridden in a more forward position.
Horse No 6 YOO YOO KNIGHT (H053) C L Chau After the race, C L Chau reported that his mount raced keenly in the early stages when left without cover, lay out making the Home Turn and as a result was left without a finishing effort.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 DEVIL AND GOLD (G443) A Hamelin Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 9 BEAT HOLLOW (G414) E C W Wong Near the 200 Metres, Apprentice E C W Wong was unable to ride his mount for a short distance when he had some difficulty in changing his whip from a backhand to a forehand grip.
Horse No 10 APEX TOP (D136) L Ferraris Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 GENERAL WINNER (E376) A Atzeni Raced wide and without cover from the 900 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 GREAT BRILLIANT (G287) M L Yeung Hampered on jumping.
Noted to have bled from both nostrils.
Horse No 13 ANGELS HUNTER (G193) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No ART LITE (H249) K De Melo Withdrawn on 25.11.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter TSUEN WAN GLORY.
Before being allowed to race again, ART LITE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Post-time favourite Apex Top just held off Angels Hunter after surging to a narrow lead near the 100m travelling three lengths away in second behind Beat Hollow for a third career win over the 1,400m. He took advantage of a better draw after going all right from awkward gates in his first two starts this term. Punted late Angels Hunter made it close after nearly drawing level 100m out following a prominent run on the fence. It was a good effort after a suspensory injury in June. Another fancied late in betting, Beat Hollow kept on well for third after dictating the pace from gate eight. He proved a win last start was not a fluke. Early favourite Compulsory ran on steadily to fill the frame after a one-off run from better than midfield. It was another honest effort. Rattan World ran on without threatening settling one off from behind midfield after a tardy start. He should find his mark shortly in the grade. Tsuen Wan Glory made headway late settling last from gate 13. General Winner kept on all right despite a wide without cover run from behind midfield.
