Recap by phillip woo

Double Show quickened nicely from behind midfield on the fence to overhaul long-time leader Happy Horse in deep stretch and score his first win on his 26th start. He relished stepping back in trip after placing twice over Happy Valley's 1,650m earlier this season. Happy Horse did everything right but get the win after getting his own way in front from gate two. It was another good effort carrying more weight following his last-start success. Sweet Diamond went forward three wide from gate 10 to track the leader and kept plugging away to finish a distant third. It was a return to form, but he did not have to beat much. Prestige Moochi made some late ground to fill the frame after making his run two from the rear. It was his best effort. Multimore plodded after his prominent run. He was disappointing. Master Of All got going late without ever posing a threat to the winner. Raging favourite Vamos did not land a blow after his wide midfield trip. He was way under the odds after placing without threatening the victor in his first three races this term. Now he is a 26-start maiden.
