Recap by phillip woo

Punted late Beat Hollow held off the late surge of favourite Super Joy after reclaiming the lead from stablemate Eight Trigrams 150m out for a second win from 14 starts and first on this surface from two runs over the dirt 1,200m. He should remain in the grade and can win again. Super Joy weaved a run near the inside to finish a close second settling near last after a tardy break. He's a winner waiting to happen with seconds in his past three start over this course and distance. Well-backed late All Is Ready ran on steadily to fill a placing after a prominent run one off the fence. He relished a return to the surface of a win in October. Eight Trigrams kept battling away to just hold fourth after driving to the lead 1,000m out. It was the old-timer's best run of the campaign off a career low in the handicaps. Charming Steed made headway late to nearly fill the frame from behind midfield. It was a better effort on his past couple with a return to the dirt. It was a long way back to Island Surprise who ran on without threatening from the rear of the field. Vamos will sleep well after a torrid trip from midfield.
