Racing Incident Report
Race One : (343) - MURRAY HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 CLASSIC ARCHI (G295) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly, was crowded shortly after the start and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 TURTLE AGAIN (H083) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 CIRCUIT ELITE (E487) K De Melo Bumped on jumping.
After the race, K De Melo expressed concern with his mount's action in the Home Straight when it gave ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, CIRCUIT ELITE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 5 SUNNY BABY (E166) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 COLOURFUL BARON (G301) L Hewitson Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 8 HAPPY HERO (G322) B Avdulla Shifted out on jumping and was bumped.
Near the 50 Metres was shifted to the inside of TURTLE AGAIN to secure clear running.
Horse No 9 FORTUNE TRIPLE (D274) M Chadwick From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From the 800 Metres commenced a forward move and raced wide and without cover thereafter.
Near the 200 Metres was eased away from COLOURFUL BARON (L Hewitson) which shifted out whilst being ridden along.
L Hewitson was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 10 DIAMOND WINNER (H285) A Hamelin Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between COLOURFUL BARON and HAPPY HERO.
For some distance near the 100 Metres was taken wider when COLOURFUL BARON continued to shift out.
L Hewitson was advised to exercise more care.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 VIVA A LA (G282) M F Poon Shifted in at the start and was bumped before being corrected by its rider M F Poon.
Horse No 12 FOXHUNTER WAY (E296) C Y Ho Approaching the 200 Metres briefly raced tight to the inside of TURTLE AGAIN when that runner shifted in.
Horse No 3 AI ONE (E139) L Ferraris Withdrawn by order of the Stewards on raceday morning (see General).
Horse No M M NEBULA (G279) Z Purton Withdrawn on 16.1.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (colic) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter SUNNY BABY.
Before being allowed to race again, M M NEBULA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After straightening three from the rear, standby starter Sunny Baby came with a perfectly timed run through the middle to just get the better of Diamond Winner and favourite Turtle Again for a third career win. Diamond Winner finished well down the outside to make it close on the wire after a patient ride one from the rear. He relished a step back to the distance of back-to-back thirds after failing to handle the 2,200m last start. Favourite Turtle Again did everything but get the win after poking his head in front 200m out after a dream run on the leader's back. It was another good run. Punted late, Colourful Baron stayed on well to finish a close fourth after slotting one off in midfield. It was another positive effort carrying more weight following a win. Happy Hero made a good bid late to just miss the frame after a rails run from behind midfield. He hasn't disgraced in four straight runs. Foxhunter Way stayed on next best after being tight for room at times in the run to the wire. United Endeavors only plodded when asked for an effort after a prominent run. He didn't get the trip.
