Recap by phillip woo

Firming favourite Super Joy N Fun led and kept finding after turning the final bend two lengths on top to remain unbeaten from two starts. He's got the tools to hold his own off a light weight in a higher grade. Lucky Quality kept on gamely for second after tracking the eventual winner from gate 12. He's a difficult horse to get right on his day. Golden Bull stayed on nicely for third after chasing the speed three wide without cover the entire trip from gate 10. He's a winner waiting to happen if he can draw a gate. Telecom Speedran on steadily for fourth after a handy run one off the fence. The big weight took its toll following a win. Golden Link ran on nicely down the outside from last for fifth. It was a better run after showing little in five prior starts. Hearty Wish weakened late after settling in the box seat. He's a better prospect in Class Five company. Prime Mortar ran on without threatening from towards the rear. Crystal Powerful never landed a blow after travelling on the rail in midfield. Tattenham was restless in the gate and withdrawn by order of the stewards on vet advice.

For this declaration error, Trainer D J Hall was fined $2,000.

Approaching the 1000 Metres raced tight to the inside of TELECOM SPEED which lay in despite the efforts of its rider.

Bumped near the 300 Metres and became unbalanced.

Horse No 5 PRIME MORTAR (G328) K C Leung Jumped only fairly and after travelling a short distance was crowded by GORGEOUS VITALITY which was taken in by TELECOM SPEED which shifted in when being corrected by its rider.

After being held up on the Home Turn improved into a run approaching the 300 Metres between TELECOM SPEED and MARIO where there was not sufficient room, resulting in PRIME MORTAR becoming awkwardly placed behind TELECOM SPEED, shifting out and bumping with MARIO.
