Recap by phillip woo

Sky Heart kept finding after hitting the lead 350m out following a wide trip prompting the pace early on from gate 13. It was a tough win after catching the eye to place in his first two starts and there's lots more to come from him. You'remyeverything dashed well near the outside to finish a close second after biding his time fourth last from gate 11. He proved a rallying second last start was not a fluke and should be saluting shortly if he remains in the grade. Favourite Must Go found a couple too good after a handy run along the inside from gate one. He's building towards a win. Less Is More made good ground late for fourth after biding his time three from the rear. He can bob up at any moment after showing good progress in his three starts. Always Fluke came up one paced over the last 100m after a wide trip from midfield. He needed the outing off a 119-day break. Full Credit kept on okay to finish next best after a prominent run wide without cover from gate 12. It was a positive debut effort.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six : (470) - ESSEX HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 2 WONDERFUL UNICORN (G362) Z Purton Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start.

Held up for clear running between the 450 Metres and the 200 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, WONDERFUL UNICORN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 3 YOU'REMYEVERYTHING (E413) Y L Chung Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 MAGIC SUPREME (D144) B Avdulla For some distance after the 800 Metres raced keenly.

Near the 300 Metres was eased when crowded between ALWAYS FLUKE and MUST GO (R Moore) which shifted out before being corrected by its rider.

R Moore was advised to exercise more care.

Horse No 6 MUST GO (J133) R Moore After the race, R Moore reported that his mount raced ungenerously when placed under pressure and shifted ground in the early part of the Home Straight.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 SKY HEART (J092) B Shinn When questioned regarding SKY HEART being ridden in a forward position today, B Shinn stated that from a wide barrier he was given the option if his mount began well, he should take advantage of that and go forward.

He said when FULL CREDIT, which was positioned to his inside, jumped only fairly, he elected to immediately ride his mount along to cross runners to his inside.

He added when caught wide in the early stages he elected to continue a forward move to avoid racing wide and was able to take up a position outside the lead near the 900 Metres.

Trainer C Fownes confirmed the instructions and advised that at its previous race start over 1400 Metres he had not given H Bowman any specific instructions, but when caught wide in the early stages, Jockey Bowman had elected to ride SKY HEART in a more conservative manner on that occasion to avoid racing wide.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 8 FULL CREDIT (J185) B Thompson Jumped awkwardly.

Raced wide and without cover from the 900 Metres and raced keenly in the middle stages.

Lay in in the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride out and near the winning post shifted in, resulting in its rider B Thompson having to stop riding and straighten.

Horse No 11 STRATHBARRY (H413) C L Chau Near the 950 Metres was reluctant to hold its position when racing tight to the inside of LESS IS MORE which shifted in and away from NORTHERN BEAST despite the efforts of its rider H Bowman.

For a short distance near the 200 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned tight to the inside of MUST GO and behind SUPER BONUS.

Approaching the winning post was crowded by FULL CREDIT which shifted in.

After the race, C L Chau reported that his mount jumped awkwardly and as a consequence lost ground and settled further back than what had been intended.

Horse No 12 GO HERO (H315) H T Mo From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 14 PODIUM (H173) M L Yeung From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
