Race Three : (553) - TING KAU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 3 MUST GO (J133) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 SPICY SPANGLE (J087) Y L Chung Jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the 700 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied to avoid MUST GO.
Horse No 5 VANTASTIC CHOICE (G401) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SERGEANT PEPPER (E432) H Bowman Near the 700 Metres got its head up when momentarily crowded between STRIVE FOR GLORY and VANTASTIC CHOICE which lay out.
After the race, H Bowman reported that his mount raced keenly in the middle stages and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 STRIVE FOR GLORY (D186) L Ferraris Shortly after the start blundered, resulting in both STRIVE FOR GLORY and L Ferraris becoming unbalanced.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the race, L Ferraris reported that he was requested to ensure that STRIVE FOR GLORY jumped well.
He added that after STRIVE FOR GLORY commenced well, he allowed it to take up a more forward position.
Trainer W Y So confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 8 RUNNING BOY (J041) K C Leung Slow to begin.
Horse No 9 HICKORY VICTORY (H370) M F Poon The performance of HICKORY VICTORY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, HICKORY VICTORY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 ACA POWER (E144) A Badel When caught wide and without cover in the early stages was restrained where it obtained cover near the 800 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 HINOKAMI KAGURA (H384) Z Purton Withdrawn prior to Race 1 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (skin condition).
Before being allowed to race again, HINOKAMI KAGURA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No SOLAR UP (J134) M Chadwick Withdrawn on 2.4.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter VALHALLA.
Before being allowed to race again, SOLAR UP will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Early favourite Must Go responded nicely under the whip to claim Vantastic Choice 50m out after a handy run on the fence for a first win at his 10th start. He relished a change in surfaces after knocking on the door in recent runs on turf. Vantastic Choice found one too smart after working to the lead near the 100m. It was a good effort at his first start on the surface after winning two of his five other outings on turf this term. Valhalla ran on nicely for third after settling wide with cover behind midfield. It was another honest performance in a rare start on the dirt. Well-backed late, Cool Blue ran on well for fourth after biding his time in third last from an awkward gate. He keeps promising without delivering on the surface. Magic Supreme was on his tippy toes 100m out after going straight to the front from gate two. He's not genuine. Strive For Glory came up one-paced over the final 150m after sitting wide without cover near the speed from gate 12. He had an excuse. Post-time favourite Aca Power ran on without threatening down the outside after making his run from the rear.
